The Whale Shark watching and encounter in the municipality of Oslob is one of the famous and popular tourism activities in Cebu for both local and international tourists. It became as one of the tourism icons in Cebu. It is just like your visit to Cebu is not complete if that is not included in your itinerary.
I would highly recommend doing this activity during early or late morning, although, you can still do it in any time of the day, depending on the presence of the whale sharks.
From the embarkation area, the distance of the whale sharks bay area is around 50 to 100 meters and you need to ride a boat going there.
This is a by batch or group activity, so you will join with other tourists when the required head count is reached.

If you don’t have your own swimming gears, don’t worry as there are available all sorts of diving and swimming equipment that you can rent within the area, from snorkel, googles, swimming foot paddle and many more.

🅿️ If you are bringing vehicle, there is a pay parking area nearby.
🚁 If you are planning to fly drone within Oslob municipality, there is a required permit fee of ₱1,500.00 (valid for 2 days) based on my experience. You can get this permit mostly in the tourist entrance fee collection post (for example: Whale Shark area, Tumalog Falls area, etc.).
💁 Nearby tourist attractions that you can also visit during this trip are the Tumalog Falls and Macaque Monkey Viewing.
