Osmeña Peak Description
The Osmeña Peak in the municipality of Dalaguete is the highest peak in the entire Cebu with an elevation of 1,072.6 (1073) meters above sea level (MASL). It is part of the Dalaguete mountain ranges that comprises some of the famous peaks in the area, namely: Kandungaw Peak, Casino Peak (Lugsangan Peak) and Tabon Peak.
The summit is famous for its unique landscape of jagged, rolling hills that resemble rows of giant green mounds stretching across the horizon. From the peak, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding mountains, coastal areas, and nearby islands of Cebu and neighboring provinces on a clear day. The cool climate and strong mountain breeze provide a refreshing contrast to the warmer lowland areas of the province.
The trail going to the summit is relatively short and accessible, making Osmeña Peak a popular destination for beginner hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. Along the way, visitors can pass through vegetable farms and scenic mountain paths while experiencing the peaceful atmosphere of the highlands. Accessibility
The trailhead of Osmeña Peak is located near the peak itself and it is accessible via motorcycle or car. So, this is only a slight short walk going to the summit of the peak.
Livelihood
Their primary livelihood is farming. The highlands of Dalaguete is sometimes windy and has a colder temperature. It is a primary supplier for vegetables that thrive in cold temperature.
