The Timubo Cave in the municipality of San Francisco, Cebu, is one of the top 9 caves to visit in the entire Camotes Island.
Cave Description
The entire area of Timubo Cave is wide inside, but mostly off limits because it might be difficult or dangerous to access except for the designated path. This is a long-range cave. Outside, the top of the cave is a farm land with plantation in some portions.
There are store stalls in front of the cave entrance which you can buy snacks and souvenirs, etc.
Accessibility
This cave is near to the main road with just a few turns and you are already there. You can park your vehicle right near the cave entrance (please follow designated parking area for different type of vehicles). You can go there with or without a tour guide.
As you enter the cave, you will descend in a path that consist of pavement stairways with handrails in some portion. Just be careful because some of the stairways might be slippery.
The length of the cave from the entrance down to the tip is around 50-70 meters. The tip of the cave is where the huge body of water located and serves also as a swimming area. The estimated water depth is around 4 to 7 feet. Before you reach to the tip, you will pass in a shallow and short body of water.
There are ambient lightings along the path and inside the cave.
